How I Coach
How I Coach
As your coach, I will:
- Provide a caring, safe, non-judgmental place where you can express your frustrations and dreams.

- Ask lots of questions to help you develop awareness and figure things out.
- Guide you in creating your vision and defining your action steps for what you want to accomplish or how you want to live. What are the possibilities?
- Address what is getting in the way of reaching your vision. Where do you need to persevere and what do you need to change, let go of, or accept?
- Give you lots of support and reduce any sense of isolation you might feel because of ADD or other life situations.
- Help you recognize, change, or silence negative self-talk. ADD is not your fault or a moral issue. It’s a very real neurological difference that can cause challenges and emotional pain. You deserve compassion from yourself – not blame and criticism.
- Teach you about executive functioning and help you identify the ADD/ADHD traits that may be keeping you from living the life you want.
- Help you develop new habits, systems, and structures to meet your chosen goals.
- When applicable, talk to you about resources for conventional, alternative, and complimentary treatments.
- See your strengths, gifts, and accomplishments even when you can’t.
- Support you while you try new ways of doing things. If one strategy doesn’t work, we’ll figure out why together. Then we’ll tweak it or keep trying new strategies until we find one that does.
- Celebrate your successes!
We’ll use methods that are particularly helpful for people with ADD to help you keep track of what you want to do, stay motivated, take the action steps you’ve chosen, and reach your vision for how you want to live, feel, and be.
